Swan Care recently completed the sale of an independent playgroup and nursery in Nottingham. Established in 2015, the business provides a popular childcare service to the local community. The owners felt they had developed the business as far as they could and instructed Swan to find a buyer to take over the reins and progress the business further.
“We met with three business transfer agents and chose Swan Care to sell our business because the Director demonstrated local knowledge and we felt the team could deliver the personal touch when presenting our business. It was the first time we had sold a business and we wanted a buyer who could further develop the business with the best interest of staff at heart and continue to provide a service to families in the local community.
We were very encouraged with the amount of interest shown by potential, high calibre buyers. We had several viewings, which led to two good offers and one being accepted. The new buyer displayed a connection with the business and saw all the potential the business had to offer.
The new buyer now owns another popular day nursery in Nottingham and purchased the business to add to their portfolio of nurseries in the region.”

“Having worked in the care industry for almost 40 years, I decided it was now time to retire. I met with one of Swan’s Directors and decided after our first meeting that I wanted to instruct them to sell my business. After three viewings of my business and several rounds of negotiation, I accepted a substantial offer from a large care agency in the area. I agreed to remain in the business for six months after completion, but with thirteen months of originally meeting with Swan, I had finished my handover period and have now retired.
